Postpartum period
The first week after giving birth is called the postpartum period. During this time, the maternity nurse will be there to support you daily, whether you gave birth at home or in the hospital. We, the midwives, will also visit you several times to check on you and your baby and to reflect on the birth together.

Maternity care
The maternity nurse will help you care for your baby, keep a close eye on your health, and will contact us if anything seems wrong.
-
In case of a home birth: your maternity nurse will be with you immediately.
-
In case of a hospital birth: as soon as you go home, call the maternity care organization. They will make sure someone is with you as soon as possible.
