About our practice

Our practice consists of four experienced midwives who complement each other and work closely together. We are trained as sonographers, allowing us to perform primary care ultrasounds in our own practice.

We believe it's important that you get to know us, and that we get to know you. That's why you'll see every member of our team during your pregnancy. This way, you can be sure you'll always have a familiar face by your side, especially during labor.

Our practice was founded in 1993

Since then, we've supported tens of thousands of mothers and fathers in Amstelveen and the surrounding area. We're proud of our long history and our modern approach. In addition to midwifery care, we also offer fertility clinics, ultrasounds, and contraceptive services.

We value a personal and inclusive approach. Everyone is welcome: couples, single mothers, LGBTQ+ parents, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Because of the diversity in our region, we have extensive experience supporting different needs, traditions, and expectations surrounding pregnancy and birth.

We would like to introduce our team to you

Each of us will share a little bit of our personal background, experience, and what drives her in this unique profession. To get to know the people who might soon be standing beside you at one of the most important moments of your life.

Midwife

I was born in northern Denmark. I met Wim during a holiday in Egypt in 1988. After commuting for a few years, I finally settled in the Netherlands.

Wim and I have 2 daughters: Marieke (1994) and Emma (1999).

I have been working in the practice since 2001 after first working in Amsterdam East.

By the way: my name is pronounced as 'Zus'.

I was born and raised in Amstelveen.

I have been working in the practice since 2010.

In 2016 I married Ruben, together we have three sons; Faes (2016) Rijk (2018) and Lou (2021).

Midwife

I've been working at the practice as a midwife since 2024 and as an ultrasound technician since 2025. Besides the fact that midwifery obviously is the most wonderful profession in the world, I also love that no two women are the same, and therefore no two births are the same.

Furthermore, I'm not a 9-to-5 person and I love working irregular hours. My colleagues know I'm a night owl and that it's better to call me at 11 PM than at 7 AM. So midwifery is an incredibly good fit for me.

I also live with my fiancé in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel (nice and close). Outside of work, you can find me on the tennis court and binge-watching a wide variety of TV shows.

Midwife

I've been working as a midwife since the summer of 2022. For the first two years, I worked in the Zwolle and Dronten area. Eighteen months ago, I moved to Amsterdam, where I've been happily working at this practice ever since, along with my wonderful colleagues.

For me, it's always special to be on the sidelines for something as momentous as the birth of a new life. The trust that (expectant) parents place in me is incredibly valuable to me. I honestly can't see myself doing anything else in the coming years.

In my free time, I enjoy being surrounded by friends, good food, and good conversation. I'm active, enjoy sports, am full of energy, and don't say no to a dance on the weekend.

Midwife

I've been working as a primary care midwife with great pleasure since 2023. I graduated in 2022, and my choice for this profession was a natural one: I find supporting women and their partners during such a special time incredibly rewarding. No two days are the same, and I especially enjoy the personal contact and the variety in my work.

Outside of practice, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and I love to travel.

Sonographer

In 2016 I graduated as an Ultrasound Technician and since the beginning of 2024 I have been working with great pleasure at the Healing Masters.

I can honestly say I haven't felt a single moment of regret since choosing this wonderful profession. The personal contact with the pregnant woman, her partner, and her family, as well as monitoring the baby's development through every stage of the pregnancy, make it an incredibly rewarding and challenging profession.

Pregnancy is a special and exciting time. As an expectant parent, you're curious about the new life growing in your belly. I find it truly special that I can help you with the help of ultrasound.

Assistant

I have been working as a practice assistant since 2023 and you can reach me on the phone on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The best part of my job is the contact with clients and the pleasant, busy atmosphere – no two days are the same.

Mother of a son (1996) and a daughter (1998) who are happily independent and have left home.

Besides my work, I love travelling, adventure, being in nature, walking, cycling, drinks and dinner with friends.

Assistant

Since 2015, I've been happily working as a practice assistant on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I'm also the first point of contact (by phone) within the practice.

I live in Amstelveen with my husband and I am the proud mother of Thijn (2014), Charlotte (2018) and Sophie (2024).

In my spare time I enjoy doing yoga, walking in nature or working in the vegetable garden.
